At Gerard McCabe, we are dedicated to supporting our local community. We aim to support charities that share similar values to us, striving to help them in any way we can so that we can do our part to encourage our region to thrive.
For a number of years, we had the privilege of supporting the wonderful Bone Growth Foundation (now Bone Health Foundation) - specifically, their annual Celebrity Tennis Challenge.
It was so exciting for our Adelaide jewellery business to have our own tennis event, and over the years we had the fortune of meeting some fantastic celebrities while working for a good cause.

Our journey with the Bone Growth Foundation began in 2000 when Gerard McCabe signed on as a naming right sponsor for the Celebrity Tennis Challenge. This gesture was instrumental in securing the event’s future and proved to be a most successful 9-year partnership.
The Gerard McCabe Jewellers Celebrity Tennis Challenges have featured a great many tennis legends, including the likes of:
The event was also fortunate enough to have been visited by a number of world-famous celebrities, such as Sir Cliff Richard, Shane Warne, Michael Klim, Mark Holden, Russell Morris, Gary Sweet, Jon Stevens, Tatiana Grigorieva, Aaron Baddeley, Darren Jarman, Allan Border, James Reyne, Rachael Sporn, Stuart Dew, Tyson Edwards, Andrew McLeod, Stuart O’Grady, Brian McFadden, Andrew Denton and many more.

The generosity displayed by these celebrities helped to keep this event alive, enabling the incredible Bone Growth Foundation to continue on with its lifesaving research.
Each year, the Celebrity Tennis Challenge rose in profile, supporter numbers growing as well as the money raised. The Challenge raised over $100,000 each year for the Foundation, the record being $160,000 in 2004 when Sir Cliff Richard blessed centre court with his presence. On that day, there wasn’t a spare seat in the house.
Gerard McCabe is extremely grateful and proud to have been a part of the Bone Growth Foundation’s fundraising efforts. If you would like to learn more about the good work this Foundation is undertaking and how you can be a part of it, you can find more information here.
