This beautiful brooch, will surely take your breath away. A magnificent representation of 1950’s jewellery, this piece is truly incredible.

Selected by Gerard McCabe to feature in his choice blog this month, this stunning creation is marvellous from every angle.

Well if you like bling, then this magnificent 1950’s Platinum Diamond Spray Brooch will do the trick

This brooch is crafted in platinum and is adorned with approximately 7.35ct of sparkling brilliant and baguette cut diamonds. Creating a spectacle of colour unlike anything we’ve seen before, the diamonds glisten magnificently. The spray-like design creates movement as the light bounces off the collection of shining gemstones.

This brooch represents femininity and the affluence following the post-war era

Following World War 2, costume jewellery flourished, thanks to the increased spending power that the decade brought. Women sought to look well groomed with these ornate and feminine jewelled creations - making way for some spectacular pieces to appear.

The war saw a shortage in precious gemstones, but from the 1950’s they were once again readily available and highly desirable - allowing jewellers to again adorn accessories with a collection of diamonds.

Much like this Platinum Diamond Spray Brooch, women were embellished with spectacular jewels.

Balanced yet asymmetrical, the facets flash with each subtle movement

Discover the beauty behind this 1950’s brooch. The intricate detail of its craftsmanship and true beauty that radiates as the light plays off the glistening diamonds. The use of diverse diamond cuts only adds to the interesting colour-play and design aesthetic. A wonderful representation of the over-the-top trends of this era.

I’m excited about this piece - what a spectacular jewel
