And what does it guarantee? Our Diamond Certificates outline the following and ensure that the diamond you are purchasing is top quality. --- ##### Cut The first step in diamond selection begins with assessing the cut of the gemstone. This cut greatly influences its performance - which refers to the intense sparkle every girl dreams of. Gerard McCabe looks for diamonds that offer the best performance, with each being selected only if they feature brilliance, fire and scintillation. With these standards in place, our diamonds are typically within the top 15% of cut grading scales, with a triple excellent rating preferred. ##### Colour Colour refers to the measure of colour within the diamond or the absence of colour. With this in mind, the more colourless a diamond is, the more valuable and beautiful it is. This colour range is measured on a scale from D (colourless) to Z (tinted yellow). This number is printed on the certificate and recorded in our database - so the diamond can be traced back to you.
