Every piece of jewellery holds a secret: a love story, a legacy, a forgotten chapter of history. On Friday 13 June, we invited our clients to uncover those secrets with the knowledge and expertise of our antique specialists. For the first time ever, we hosted an Antique & Vintage Jewellery Roadshow inside our Adelaide Arcade boutique, where heirlooms met expert eyes and hidden histories came to life.
We had the absolute pleasure of meeting guests who brought in their family heirlooms, vintage treasures, and mysterious pieces passed down through generations. With the help of Gerard and our team of antique jewellery specialists, we spent the day examining, testing, and discussing the fascinating history behind each piece.
It was back to back fun. We got to meet so many people and hear the stories about their jewellery. People left with either a smile on their face or having shed some light on their things that had puzzled them for many years. - Justin McCabe, Co-Managing Director
Every jewel tells a story
Our Adelaide Arcade boutique was buzzing with excitement as we welcomed a stream of guests throughout the fully booked event. Some guests discovered the age and origin of pieces they'd owned for years. Others were surprised to learn they were holding genuine antiques with remarkable histories. What made this event so rewarding was seeing guests reconnect with their own family stories, rediscovered through the lens of expert knowledge and craftsmanship.
Among the many fascinating pieces we had the privilege of examining was a Greek gold Byzantine necklace, which was originally gifted to the owner's mother by the founder of the Museum in Greece. Another guest shared a European pendant and earring set with a remarkable story: their father, a Hungarian diamond valuer, had smuggled the jewels out of Hungary during the 1956 Hungarian Revolution. We also admired a glowing Bohemian garnet suite featuring a necklace, bracelet and earrings.
