WHAT IS THE FAMILY BUSINESS AUSTRALIA HALL OF FAME AWARD?

The Family Business Australia (FBA) Chapter Hall of Fame is a highly regarded peer commendation bestowed at a state level on one outstanding business each year by Family Business Australia. Regardless of the size of the business, this citation recognises the achievements of families that are managing respected and successful family businesses and pays homage to the significant role they play in our community, society and economy. Induction into the FBA Hall of Fame is an honour that is highly esteemed within the family business sector and inductees are justly proud to be recognised for their achievements.

Working with family is wonderful and we have a shared vision for the company which makes coming to work very fulfilling. Our family business has also attracted amazing staff who share our passion and truly feel like an extension of our family. Jessica (McCabe) Moran - Marketing Director

Jewellery has been in the McCabe families blood for four generations. Gerard started out in the footsteps of his grandfather, Frank and his father, Patrick. Gerard and his wife Pauline created the business on April 1st, 1986, initially based in the Edments building, on the corner of Gawler Place and Rundle Mall. In this time the business excelled trading in second hand, antique jewellery and manufacturing rings.

The business is now at a stage where the first generation is about to transition to the second. Gerard and Pauline's 4 children, Jessica, Justin, Lauren and Daniel, have all worked in the business over the years. Now Justin and Jessica remain involved in the management of the business alongside Gerard and Pauline. It's truly a family affair.
